Linnainmaa track
The Linnainmaa track runs from the Tampere University Hospital (TAYS) area, from the tram stop of the Kauppi campus to Mäentakusenkatu in Linnainmaa. The length of the tramway section is approximately 4.3 kilometres and four new pairs of stops have been planned for the track.
In phase 1 (2024–2028), we will build the tramway section from Kauppi campus to Ruotula. The tramway line length is 1,4 kilometres and there is one stop called Ruotula. The aim is to start tram services to Ruotula in August 2028.
In phase 2 (2028–2032), we will construct a line from the Ruotula stop to Linnainmaa. The tramway crosses Teiskontie on the west side of Alasjärvi with the new Rahjukoski bridge, which will be Tampere’s longest bridge (382 metres).
Tramway in Kaupinlaakso
The tramway from Kauppi Campus to Ruotula will run through the planned Kaupinlaakso residential area.
The Ruotula tram stop will be built near the developing Tennis Centre in the Kaupinlaakso area.
