Tramway Modification Work to Begin at the Eastern End of Lääkärintie in Week 10

The Pirkkala-Linnainmaa Alliance of Tampere Tramway will carry out tramway modification work at the eastern end of Lääkärintie, at the current endpoint of the tramway track, during the spring. The existing track endpoint will be dismantled to integrate it with the future tramway structures.

The work will begin with modifications to the overhead electrical system, taking place from Sunday evening to Wednesday morning, March 2–5, between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM. During this time, two overhead line poles will be removed, and related catenary adjustments will be made. Traffic, as well as pedestrian and bicycle routes, will be directed as needed around the work area. The work will not affect tram operations.

Following the electrical modifications, the rails and track slab at the track endpoint will be dismantled. Some minor noise disturbances may occur in the surrounding area. Once the modifications are completed, groundwork for the new tramway will begin, including the installation of underground pipes and cables as well as the preparation of the track slab foundation.
